Zantac lawsuits involve claims that Zantac (ranitidine) contains a cancerous contaminant known as Nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA). Zantac is a popular anti-acid drug used to treat heartburn and acid reflux.
Our law firm is currently assisting clients who took Zantac and suffered particular kinds of digestive track cancers. This includes stomach cancer, small intestine cancer, bladder cancer, colon cancer, esophageal cancer, liver cancer, prostate cancer, pancreatic cancer, leukemia, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, multiple myeloma cancer, and other digestive track cancers.
On April 1, 2020, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced it was requesting manufacturers to immediately withdraw all prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) ranitidine products from the market place. The FDA determined that the impurity in some ranitidine products increases overtime when stored in higher than room temperatures which causes unacceptable levels of NDMA. Additional studies have shown that exposure to higher than normal levels of NDMA could lead to cancer.
